Zwipe, INC Launches Iraq’s First Biometric Payment Card Pilot

Baghdad ( – Zwipe and the International Network for Cards and Digital Payment Services (INC) have announced they will pilot biometric payment cards in Iraq. It will be the first biometric payment card pilot in the country. As one of the fastest growing card processing companies in Iraq, INC will offer white label biometric card issuance as a service for banks and other payment companies.

In collaboration with Zwipe, INC will integrate biometric payment cards into its wallet and offer them as a standard payment product to its customers in the Iraqi market.

This development was made possible thanks to INC’s strategic partner, Nymcard, which in September 2021 confirmed its collaboration with Norwegian tech company Zwipe to bring biometric payment cards to the MENA region.

“We are proud to intensify our collaboration with Zwipe and bring the next generation of contactless experience to Iraq. Our partnership with Zwipe has significantly strengthened INC’s mission to provide payment solutions with industry-leading security and a world-class user experience. Our pilot project in Iraq with NEO Visa cards will be the first step in bringing this fantastic product to other market players, ”said Zaid Fawzi, CEO and Founder of INC.

“Our partnership with NymCard and its subsidiaries in the region such as INC will significantly accelerate the deployment of next-generation contactless cards. I am happy to launch this pilot project with INC in Iraq – a large market with huge growth potential. It should be mentioned that the Central Bank of Iraq has already approved our initiative to introduce biometric payment cards in Iraq and encourages all Iraqi banks to participate in this exciting innovation ”, said Ramzi Saboury, Managing Director for the MENA region at Zwipe.
