Judith filed a lawsuit against Rudy on Tuesday
Judith filed a lawsuit against Rudy in the New York State Supreme Court. According to court documents, she claimed the 78-year-old Republican was in contempt of court for allegedly failing to pay her $262,000 under the terms of their divorce settlement.
The sum includes the cost of their Palm Beach, house, housekeeper and private club fees. According to the affidavit, Rudy owes Judith $140,000 for their South Lake Drive, Palm Beach property alone.
She also accused him of “not paying his half of the annual club dues”. “I had no choice but to pay his share of the dues…in order to stay in good standing with the clubs,” she claimed in the court documents.
She was also supposed to get $5,000 a month for an assistant or housekeeper, but “he made inconsistent and sporadic payments, including a check for $10,000 in June 2021 that was returned for lack of sufficient funds” , explains Judith.
She also demanded that Rudy pay her the amount immediately and with interest. “He owns several properties in New York and Palm Beach (and it appears) that he derives significant revenue from his media-related contracts and deals,” she added.
Rudy and Judith had a messy divorce in 2019
The couple filed for divorce in April 2018 after 15 years of marriage. They had a messy legal battle over their combined $30 million fortune. At the time, Judith’s lawyers accused Rudy of working as Trump’s lawyer for a fee, in order to reduce his income and thereby lower his monthly child support payments by $42,000.
Soon things got personal when Rudy accused his ex-wife of taking his TV remotes and cable box so he couldn’t watch himself on TV. While Judith accused him of taking away her collection of heirloom Christmas decorations.
The divorce was finally settled in December 2019 and details of the settlement were not made public at the time.
Rudy faces multiple legal issues
Rudy’s career and reputation have taken a turn for the worse over the past two years as he has found himself in a series of legal troubles. He is facing ethics charges for false DC Bar election claims. He has also been sued by Dominion Voting Systems, which provided voting machines for the 2020 election, which he claims were rigged.
Following the legal issues, his attorney’s license was suspended in both New York and the District of Columbia. He was also accused of being drunk on election night, which he denies. In a separate incident, his home and office were raided by federal agents last year, as part of an investigation into whether he had asked Ukrainian officials for help in uncovering information on Hunter Biden.
