DWP PIP, Universal Credit and Other Applicants Receive New September Payment Date

SEED, Universal Credit and other benefit claimants who expect to receive payments on the day of the Queen’s funeral will be paid earlier, the government has announced.

Benefits and credits that were due to be paid on Monday September 19 will now be paid in advance after a national bank holiday was declared following the Queen’s death last week.

Those expecting to be paid on Monday will now receive allowances and credits on Friday, September 16, the last working day before the public holiday.

The Department of Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs have arrangements in place to ensure that all benefits and credits due will be paid by this date.

  • Disabled allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income support
  • Work Injury Disability Benefit
  • Job search allowance
  • Pension credit
  • Payment for personal independence
  • State pension
  • Universal Credit
  • Child allowance/guardian’s allowance
  • Work tax credits
  • Child tax credits

Advance payments follow standard DWP and HMRC protocol which provides for benefit and credit payment dates to be brought forward in accordance with national holidays.
