Deadline to Claim Connecticut $750 Child Tax Credit Payment Is Just One Week Away

JIming is running out for Connecticut families to claim their child tax refund as the July 31 deadline approaches.

Eligible families can receive payments of up to $250 per child for up to three children. On Tuesday, only about half of eligible recipients claimed their refund, according to Connecticut Mirror.

CHILDBIRTH COSTS $3,000 FOR THE INSURED

To be eligible for the refund, applicants must be Connecticut residents, have a child 18 or younger on their 2021 federal tax return, and must meet the required income threshold.

The income threshold is $100,000 or less for people filing taxes as single or married filing separately and $200,000 or less for couples filing jointly. The program has an online line application.

Connecticut lawmakers approved reimbursement as part of a pandemic relief program. Governor Ned Lamont has indicated that he would like to make credit an ongoing policy in the future.

At least 165,621 credit applications on behalf of 258,819 children across the state were filed Tuesday, according to the outlet. State tax services estimate that between 300,000 and 350,000 households are eligible for the tax credit.
