CPU offers easy electronic payment options at no additional cost

Whether you’re using a smartphone or internet-connected computer, you have everything you need to start enjoying the benefits of Clarksdale Public Utilities’ free, reliable and convenient e-invoicing programs.

By receiving and paying their bills electronically, customers don’t need to buy stamps or worry about mail delays — an issue that drew attention last year when the U.S. Postal Service revised its service standards for first class mail, which resulted in longer delivery times for some items.

“CPU’s electronic invoicing options have an excellent track record for accuracy, security and customer satisfaction,” said Curtis D. Boschert, general manager of CPU. “They also provide peace of mind by ensuring that customer invoices are received and paid on time and that their accounts are in good standing.”

Here are some ways customers can do business with CPU from the comfort of their homes and smart devices:

• Online Portal: If you love saving money, whether it’s cash, trees, or both, CPU’s paperless billing program may be perfect for you. By receiving monthly invoices by email, customers can pay their balances quickly and easily through CPU’s secure portal.

• Mobile App: Pay online with our mobile app, which provides secure 24/7 access to customers’ utility accounts. Bill payments are posted immediately, and customers with multiple accounts can view them all at once and make payments selectively.

• Monthly Draft: This is another convenient, mail-free option ideal for customers who want utility payments automatically debited from their bank account. CPU accepts ACH bank drafts and credit card drafts.

Customers who prefer to pay their bills in person can visit the CPU office at 416 Third Street. Lobby and drive-thru hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A payment kiosk on the outside wall of the drive through is available for cash, debit card and credit card payments.

For after-hours check and money order payments, a drop box is located next to the CPU drive-thru window. Payments deposited into the drop box after 8:00 a.m. are processed the next business day.

“An important part of our Bright Future initiative is to make it as easy and convenient as possible to do business with CPU,” Boschert said. “No matter how customers choose to manage their accounts, we want to make sure they have a positive experience every time they interact with us.”
