County Executive Pittman announces rollout of new online payment system, automatic payment options for water and property tax bills
Annapolis, MD (September 7, 2022) – To cap off a project that began nearly two years ago, County Executive Steuart Pittman today announced the rollout of a new property tax and water bill payment system. Residents will now be able to set up automatic payments for these bills.
“Updating outdated systems and making government more efficient and responsive to residents is the hallmark of good government,” County Executive Steuart Pittman said. “When we started this project almost two years ago, we set ourselves the goal of creating the fastest and easiest process possible for our residents. This system achieves this goal.
The county began inventorying payment processes in January 2021 and contracted Paymentus in December 2021 to develop the new property tax and water bill system. The new system allows residents to set up automatic payments using debit cards, credit cards, e-checks or a digital wallet. To set up and manage automatic payments online, residents can visit www.aacounty.org/autopay.
Residents will be able to use a new telephone process to pay their bills by dialing 1-833-277-8723, with an automated telephone system, eliminating the wait times experienced with the old system. Additionally, the county’s new online payment system allows payment via a digital wallet with PayPal/PayPal Credit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay or Venmo. Residents will also be able to pay their bills at participating Walmart locations.
