Carroll ISD staff to receive incentive payment for 2022-23 school year
The Carroll ISD Board of Directors approved a one-time retention incentive payment for eligible employees in a 4-0 vote at its July 11 special workshop.
Directors Sheri Mills, Hannah Smith and Alex Sexton were absent from the meeting.
Based on years of experience, eligible employees will receive a one-time payment to encourage retention within the district for the 2022-23 school year. Payment will be made in three installments: one in August, December and May 2023, depending on the board resolution.
The purpose of the payment is to improve employee morale and encourage staff members to continue serving in the district during the school year, according to the resolution. The total cost to the district will be $752,219 for the next school year, the resolution states.
Eligible employees are those whose employment began on or before May 23, 2022, those who must work between 37.5 hours and 40 hours per work week and those who must work less than 37.5 hours per week, according to the resolution.
Employees eligible for payment are divided into two groups.
The first group includes teachers, special education paraprofessionals and NTN coaches, according to the resolution. NTN, or North Texas Nadadores, is CISD’s swimming club. The board previously approved a pay increase for NTN’s coaching staff at a June 6 meeting Meet.
The incentive payment for this first group ranges from $1,600 for employees with zero to five years of experience to $3,200 for employees with 26 to 30 years of experience. A full breakdown of the board resolution is set out below.
The second group includes all other personnel not listed in the first group. Those employees will receive a one-time payment of $1,000 to be paid by August 19, according to the resolution.
