Default 04 turbo HP

Can anyone explain why the 04 high output is rated at 220 instead of 215 when they both pull 245 lbs. torque???

From what I heard, the 03 output was higher than 215 when dyno'd anyways. Maybe they are just trying to compete with the publicity of the other street racer numbers.

As I understand it, DC underrated the engine in the turbo PT and SRT4. Their actual output is higher than 215 hp, so they can pick up more numbers as they please until they hit actual output.

I'll say it was under-rated.
On my '03 GT with 1500 miles on the odometer (wow..that was 12,000 miles ago..heh) it put down 209HP and 248lb/feet to the *wheels* 100% stock, with everything in place, nothing removed and nothing done to it nor removed from it.
Those numbers are SAE corrected by the way.
Which to me, definatly says they under rated the output, as even with a 10% loss of power through the drivetrain it would still equate to about 230 fly wheel horse power and about 272lb feet of torque at the flywheel. and 10% is conversative as far as power loss is concerned. Not to mention the fact that it runs stupid rich, and has a seriously tapering boost curve.

well, they also changed the cpu for 04 and have larger injectors to my knowledge. I think the stage one injectors (527cc/min) and a neww OBDIII computer are standard.
Hence the hp/torque variances
