I did mine on my srt-4.. There is an oil cooler line that make the bolt nearest to the passenger side hard to get to..
Tips: -90 degree angle driver or flexable socket extention will help. -when reinstalling. start with the bolt closest to the passanger side. Hand tighten and then swing the assembly into place. -the hole in the plate mates with the rubber side. You'll see. -depending on what tools you have it could take only 15 minutes. (substantially more if you drop a bolt) My install took 45 mins without the right tools.

Forgive my ignorance, I've only had a turbo for 2 weeks, but...
What does a BOV do? Why would I want one?

You have a blow off valve. With the plate the valve vents into the atmosphere which makes a PSSSssstt noise.
Why would you want one?? Hmmm, I donno... I guess it's just the same as putting neons, flames, wheels, exhaust, or most other mods on your ride. Basically for me, I just wanted one to annoy people.. ![]()

ContraAl,
Thanks for the advice. The passenger side bolt is a true PITA. I had the Mrs. reach through and use a ratcheting wrench to get it from behind / below. If I had spent more time thinking beforehand I would've put it up on ramps on gotten to the bolt from below. Anyway, if anyone's interested, I've posted scans of the instructions here. IMO, steps 10 & 11 are in the reverse order. |
