I have the Autometer boost gauge and it settles at 0 when the engines is shut down. I have a small 90 degree valve in front of the wastegate solenoid and I usually see around 12 psi on the gauge under hard throttle. On occasion, it has spiked at 15. I believe any over 15 -16, you trigger the idiot light as I did once while the running with 18 psi. Everything works ok now but I am altering where the valve is located and installing a BOV. See ya !

If you get ultra-low boost readings, also check for leaks on the hose to the gauge...a fitting or other hook-up may be a problem. And if anyone wants to run their GT cooler pretty cheap, I've found a way to do so. May have to use it on my STi but think it could help run a GT pretty cool...

You'd have to buy a sprayer kit to get to where I am now but that's not a big thing... The STi I have has a sprayer that sprays distilled water onto the intercooler to cool it off. Obviously, the water sprays on, absorbs heat and evaporates, carrying it away. Using a "Hobbs boost switch," as it was told to me, one can set it up to automatically spray when you hit certain levels of boost. This would automate it and cool down things pretty well without worry...it'd be good for when you run the car really hard.

Never hooked up the sprayer itself since mine came with one...but I DO know how to splice in the Hobbs switch that'll make it run automatically.

Sounds neat but I wonder were to put the tank ! The engine compartment is relatively cramped already and there's not a lot of space aound the intercooler . I'm not saying impossible by any means and as one who's watch a mechanical water temp climb instantly when boosting ......it definately bears looking into ! I'm getting car ready for a show Saturday I'll post pics as soon as I can !

Thanks. A small tank could easily be put in the back, with a hose run to the front. My tank is in my trunk.

Thanks for the ideas Robert. This would be easy to build. Just have to find the material.
