Default a/c port help

I have an 04 base pt and am having a hard time locating the a/c low pressure port. i was told it would be on the fatter tube but there isnt a port there. The hanes manual shows 2 ports but i can only find 1 on the skinny tube. Any ideas on where it is?

You may not have to "find" the low pressure port. If you are wanting to recharge your AC system, the Freon can hose connector will only fit the low pressure port. The high pressure port is a different size and will only fit a Freon pressure gauge. If the port you did locate is the same size as your recharge freon can, you found the right one.

I didnt want to try to connect to that port b/c its on the thinner tube and the instructions say that it can blow the can up. I cant find a port on the fat tube.

To recharge the AC, connect to the port on top near the firewall and the accumulator. unless I am mistaken (my car is in the parking lot at work so I can't check it right now) it is the smaller tube. In any case, it is the only port that is easily accessible, and is right on top.
