I don't know much about the newer years, but you can search the forums & find out how to remove the "center stack" or "radio bezel" and maybe , hopefully, something just became disconnected? If not, it's time to search eBay for used pieces (or take it to the dealer if still under the 3/36 & have them fix it).

{EDIT}: In looking back over your posts you have a 2007 & only 11K (aprox) miles. Take it to the dealership. Let them worry about it. That's one of the reasons why you bought a newer car , afterall, right? And, it's free...other than the time issue, so it's all good. Just tell em you tried to close the vent & it won't. End of story.

For future reference, you can spin the vents around until they are horizontal, and you'll see a phillips head screw at the bottom of the vent, that holds the center cover panel in place. Remove those two screws and the entire face is now held in by pressure clips only. You can carefully pop it off, and you'll find your AC controls at the bottom holding the assembly in place, plus two power circuits (one for the clock and the other for the window controls), pull loose the orange retaining tabs then you can remove the power plugs. Now you can see the back side of the vents in question. I've popped mine out once because someone (who me???) dropped a piece of candy in there and couldn't get it out. doh...

Anyway, it's quite easy to do once you have the process down. By the way, the vents only expose the screws on one side, so if you don't see the screw head, rotate the vent 180 degrees and you should see it.

Follow the instructions Robinh posted or let the dealer mess with it.

I looked at this thread thinking "I have an extra vent sitting in my garage" but then saw your pic and sadly I have one in Slate Grey for an 03-05.. It won't fit.. Thought I could help ya out.

well after messing around with it i got it to close and rotate. but now one side of the vent is loose, which makes it hard to rotate and close.
