I would have to say the keyless entery portion of the computer system is shot. The fact that it still goes off when you "key it" means it can't be a remote issue. I have the same problem on the passenger side sensor on my Chrysler 300.

Is there any way to simply DISARM my security ( to horn) system on my 2001 PT Cruiser?? Or should I just remove the HORN fuse for now ?? My goal is to delay visiting my dealer....

Pulling the horn will take care of the issue of letting the wife know your sneaking out. Have you tried the old disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and let everything reset. It's worth a shot at least.
