I am purchasing a 2008 Limited Turbo. On various websites I have read that the Turbo requires 87 Octane Unleaded fuel, and in others that it requires 91 Octane Unleaded fuel. I haven't been able to find the requirements on the Chrysler site. What do you Turbo owners use? Thank you!

HB,
I have an 06 GT Turbo, and it burns reg...doesn't seem to bother it a bit! And with gas at 399.9 here in Calif. for Reg....and 10 or more cents each one up from there... I'm blessed that it will run on Reg....PTpreacher

Right, 91 Octane is recommended for the GT with the High Output Turbo. I was disappointed when all the stations around here lowered their premium from 93 to 91, cause I thought it ran a little better.
I've thought about trying the mid-grade 89, but haven't yet. Don't know if there would be any long-term effects from it. On the positive side, Lola's 5-speed pulled a 28.0 mpg reading at the last fill-up compared to her brothers (with autos) which are doing about 23-25. So for $.20 difference in price I consider it a wash. However diesel is another story...an oil burner doesn't get good enough mpg to justify itself with the $4.39 price of diesel around here...at least not by my standards.

Those who say you need premium are wrong.
For '08 there is no GT turbo, just the 180HP "turbo lite". It is designed and tuned to run on 87 octane regular. I have the same engine, well over 60,000 miles on rotgut regular and it runs fine on it. The confusion stems from the high output GT turbo which does need premium.
