Default Energy Suspension!

O.k. I don't post to many times only when I.m stumped. Just pulled the miss front tires off as she just told me it has started to grind. Alright nothing to do this afternoon quick easy change brakes right. So got the tire off (new tires and a gorilla must have put them on) and well it looks like a total brake job rotors and calipers. The inner brake pad is totally gone, as in not even there.
So I thought I might as well look at the rest of the front control arm bushing is perished. As well as the motor mount look like they need replacing. Question now, Energy says they don't have engine mount for the cruiser but they do for the neon, they are inserts. Has anyone used these or am I just hoping they would fit. Any other suggestions other than oem. Also it would be nice if they could be purchased in Canada, Shipping is killing me right now. Also got to get this pt up and running asap as she is driving my Dak right now.So if anyone has any suggestions on what to relace the bushings with as well as brakes would be greatly apprieciated

thanks in advance

Torque struts (motor mounts) are the same for PT and Neon. Not sure how well the inserts will work if the rubber is totally messed up in the mm.

Do not replace rotors with OEM. Stock rotors are cheap and warp easily. Go aftermarket.

Cool Re: Energy Suspension!

Remember to hit the spots where the brake rotor mounts to the spindle with some WD-40 a couple of times at least a few hours before you try to remove them.

If you are replacing any of the Energy bushings, I hope this write-up is helpful: Bushing_Replacement_2001_PTCruiser

If you do replace motor mounts, there is a final step that is detailed in my link above (under the LCA Bushing Ball Joint sub-header, search the page for the phrase "Service Manual").

Yes if your mounts rubber has failed you just replace the mount. And Kragen' aka Schucks OEM replacement mounts have more rubber in them and the inserts will not fit without some rubber cutting.

And for the N/A PT's you need a helper to get the upper mount in & out. And a stubby socket wrench. Helper holds the A/C lines back(they have some play) while you cuss and scream cause you have no room for your hands. I did my PT and a couple others.

Always aftermarket brakes.
