Default Seat level broke off?

I must have been sort of rough with it or something, cuz the lever that allows you to adjust forward or back broke off the other day. It wasn't just it popping off, the entire metal part inside it cracked.
Will I have to replace my entire seat? I've luckily gotten used to the ridiculously forward position it's in.

Cool Re: Seat level broke off?

At worst, someone should be able to weld the broken piece. If you're willing to unbolt the seat and bring it to them, I'd bet you wouldn't even have to pay much. If no shop comes to mind, try asking the local muffler shop.

For some reason never thought of welding. Will give it a try, thanks!

Even easier to get your chair working again there is a product called "JB Weld" it a glue of sorts. It will hold you over for the short term.

I had the same darn thing happen to me a few weeks ago. Let me know what you do to fix it so I can fix mine too! My lever has always kinda stuck until I pulled it just a bit more.... this time it just came right off!

Smile Re: Seat level broke off?

Don't know if this would work or not, but if the lever is round rod, you could buy a piece of tubing that you could slide over the two broken ends....then either wield or you might drill a hole thru each end and put a pop rivet in it! Just a thought.... PTPreacher

This happened to me too. The dealer part is about $175 (its the whole recliner mechanism). I doubt if any glue, no matter how good would work. I also doubt that it can be welded since its pot metal. What I did was buy an old seat for about $50, and remove the recliner mechanism. Good luck.
