Default How the Suggest a FAQ Question board works

Welcome to the new PTE 'Suggest a FAQ Question' board.

If you think of a question that belongs in a Frequently Asked Questions - post it here.

If you know of posts in the PT Forums that answer the question - post a link to the answer as well.

If the question has not been answered, and you know the answer - post it here.

Over time, I'll be sifting through the questions/answers and adding them to the PTE FAQ - there is a link to this FAQ near the top of the forum pages (look right next to the User CP link).

...or, click here.

Let's put our heads together to make a great first-timer resource here at PTE!

Hmmm...lemme take a stab at this. My question is more opinion based.

Currently, as per my pic, I have a 2003 PT Cruiser with 13,000 miles. The hood is worth almost $1000, and other mods total around $500. It is a salvage title, I purchased it on e-bay all beat to hell and fixed it up, passed the inspection, yada, yada. Aside from a minor dent on the back left quarter panel and small paint chips, it is pretty much perfect mechanically (most of the engine was replaced at 6,068 miles when I bought it).

However, my finances are becoming a little strained, and I wish to move out. With the bills it is hard to keep my bank account at a stready increase. If any of you live in Wisconsin, you might have seen my PT for sale in Auto Trader for $14K negotiable. This is mainly a test to see how many hits I can get, I really don't want to sell it. However, if I do sell it for even $13,000, I can pay off my loan (for the car and parts), and pay cash for a 1995 BMW 325i coupe with 112,000 miles in almost cherry condition, and STILL have money left over.

What do you guys think about this? I am aware all of you are PT fanatics like me and will most likely tell me I'm a dumb @$$, but I have to see what you think =P

Here is a Before pic of my PT, BTW:

The damage looks alot lighter than it really was. There was significant engine and frame damage.

There is one question that is often asked in PT Discussion and the question is; what does a certain engine code mean? Personally, instead of being in FAQ, there should be a permanent link to a website or a list of all the engine codes.

Well, you obviously figured out how to reply to an existing topic. ;-)

If you go one level up, to the list of topics, you should see a button at the top that you can click to begin a brand new topic.

Why isn't there a "Knowlegde base" section in this forum to post threads about "how-to" fix, install, repair stuff?

Like in this forum for example: http://www.lxforums.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=85

That is certainly a nicely done knowledgebase of info on the LX cars.

Would anyone like to volunteer to sift through the forums here and sort relevant threads into a system like this? I can set-up the structure, but don't have the free time to do the reading/sorting at this time.
