Default Day Time Running Lamps

I am interested in upgrading my cruiser to having day time running lamps. I know this is mandatory for Canuks. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks!!

Dan

Daytime Running Light Modules have been available so quite some time now so Canadians with pre-DRL cars could upgrade. I did a Web Ferret search for another car forum and came up with this:
http://www.commandoalarms.com/itm100035.htm
Do an internet search using "daytime running light module" and you'll see many other sites offering these.

FYI, the so-called daytime running lights on Canadian model PT Cruisers are the front turn signals, not the headlights.

You might want to check Kmart's automotive department. I noticed a DRL kit when I was there last weekend

Careful using this DRL module. The instructions will tell you to tap into the HEADLIGHT leads. The DRLs on the PT, as stated above, are indeed the turn signal lamps running at high intensity. These turn OFF when you have you signals on, (opposite one stays on), then once the signal is off, the signal light comes back on, full strenght, about 2 seconds later.... I doubt that the off-the-shelf modules will have this intelligence so be carefull.

I've just ordered the DRL module from Commando Alarms...They tell me it will fit the Cruiser and that there are 5 wires to connect...12 volts constant power, chassis ground, ignition l,parking lights and head lights...Will keep you up-dated when it arrives!

I guess it wouldn't help all idiots....the ins. companies give a discount....better visability for the OTHER people coming towards you...Have you ever ridden a motorcycle..or better yet had a motorcycle come at you....they certainly are more visable with their daytimes..As far as I'm concerned, anything to help others NOT hit me! You can't say you don't notice the newer cars coming at you as opposed to the older models w/no DRL's.

Like I said...I haven't gotten the module as of yet...I'll let you know how installation goes(or if it even works/or fits).I was told its a level 3 in difficulty in installation.
Will keep you up-dated!
