Default Flowmaster Installed

I got my Flowmaster Duals installed this week. I like the sound and performance increase. I am impartial to the upturned exhaust tip, but it prevents cutting the stock bumper on the right side.

You'll like them even more when the gas mileage goes up. So far, everyone that's installed them in my area has had about a 3mpg increase. Nice fringe-benefit for the sound and performance!

When does the gas mileage go up? I've had mine on for a month and I'm still only getting 20 mpg. Maybe if it didn't sound so cool when I step on the gas pedal. Or maybe if I didn't like the feel of power when I step on it. My wife laughs at me when we leave the garage at work when I get it to kind of echo through the garage. Watch where the passenger side pipe extends out of the muffler. Mine got a bit hot as close as it is to the rear lower part of under bumper. I've put a small piece of insulation on too try and diffuse the heat.

How is the sound with the windows up? do you need to turn up the stereo. Please decribe with every angle and detail. Wow, I cant describe how much I like the look of those turned up pipes. How much?

This isn't a loud system and with the series 50 muffler, I only turn the music up when I want to turn the music up. I have a homemade cold intake and that adds to some of my sound but this isn't a system that will drive you crazy with the noise.

OK, I've had it a week now.

My first tank of gas showed about 15MPG. I think(hope) this will get better. I was pretty hard on the throttle this week.

The sound is nice and deep. It kinda sounds like a cross between a civic and a mustang. There is no throaty grumble at idle like you would hear on a V8, but it isn't nearly as tinny or winney as a lot of import modifications. (Enough descriptive adjectives?)

With the windows up, there is almost no difference at idle or full throttle. The difference is at cruising speeds. The exhaust overcomes the engine noise.(I haven't done my intake yet.)

Overall I am happy.

By the way, this was a favor from a friend so I don't know what it cost. I will try to find out what he would charge.
