Default PT Problem

Cruiser is cutting out, has died a couple of times. Spedometer is going wacky. Any ideas what the problem could be?

WOW

That is the exact description of the problem I was having. The tach, speedo would jump up and down, while cutting in and out at the same time.

I found out the problem with mine was. Believe it or not !

I had my under car lights hooked up to the ground of the interior lights, and it was back feeding thru somehow and causing it. I disconnected the hook up to my ground lights. It was cool because when I unlocked the car the lights under the car would go on. But anyways, since then I have had no problems.

So maybe their is a problem with the ground circuit on the computer somewhere ? }

We had this problem about a month ago. Our cruiser died along the side of the road & we had to call Chrysler's road side emergency service--had a great experience with them. I hope you never have to use them, but when you need them, you can rest assured they are there to help & make things go smoothly. Anyway, dealership discovered a problem with the crankshift sensor that was related to wiring harness being routed wrong from ignition to gearshift. They fixed it in a matter of minutes.

Yep take it to the Dealer. With so much of the electrical system being tied to and controlled by the computer it's not worth messing with. Ain't modern technology wonderful!

Had the same issue on our supercharged one. The diagnostics gave me a p0500 code- speed sensor failure under load if I remember correctly.
