Default Laying down rubber

I know others have done this, When i lay down rubber it does it real nice, but at about 3.5-4k rpm the car starts hopping like mad. On a regular car i would say it sounded like loos motor mounts. Has anyone had this problem? I have a 5sp, lowered and a strut bar installed, all on stock wheels. I know its bad But it soo fun to watch people stay there with open mouths the 2 times that I have done it.

yes, the PT is a notorious wheel hopper. if the trac control was on nothing would hop.....you don't want to know what you are doing to the car when it starts to hop! my advice is.....get off the throttle when you feel it come on. usually you will get the hop as the tires begin to regain their traction...

I don't think the people are staring at you because they are awestruck, but most likely because you look like an idiot. Stop showing off you havent earned it! Perhaps if you get a blown hemi or bigblock street rod then you may impress some people at the drag strip.

Peace...

Unfortunately, I'm still in the process of "breaking-in" mine. The only rubber noise I've made was breaking for a Black Bear on I-80. I was sweating so hard that I didn't notice hopping, swaying or anything else. There was a thread about 2 months ago about this, and the majority were modified.
