Default Low mpg.....still

I just turned 8K and my average mpg is 17 - an improvement, I guess from 13-15, but still hoping for a digit in the 20s!!!

That must be disapointing! 4000 miles and auto trans. Average 20 mpg so I'm not exactly thrilled either.

Have 8500 miles with a low of 20mpg and a high of 27mpg (all highway on cruise control at 75) hope that yours improves. By the way I have a 5 speed limited

Don't know what to tell ya'. I don't drive anywhere close to anybody's idea of how to achieve good milage. (Just ask PTE Admin if you doubt it.) I average 24.5 with a low of 21.9 and a high of 27.3. I've got 9k on my 5-spd "F". Could you be driving it too "nice"?

Another thing I've noticed that struck me as strange, when I fill up in Kokomo, my mpg is low, but when I fill up in Fairmont (home of the late James Dean and James Dean Days, for those of you older than even me) or other small towns my mpg is higher. Doesn't matter if I use the same pump 3 times in a row or not, I always get lower mpg when filling up in Kokomo.

Could your mpg be OK and it is just some crooks setting the pumps??? Hmmmmmm.....

I am also getting low mileage (16-17 mpg). Limited Auto. Seems to be common with the Automatic Trans?

with a 28G auto I ave 22-24 mainly freeway . have 19000 miles now and power and mile improved along the way. Found cruiser responds more to harder driving , likes the higher revs.
Good Luck

I have 13,000 on a 28F and have been getting 18-20 in town and almost 26 on extended highway cruises. Have noticed a slight drop in in-town driving now that we have started using the air conditioner again. Last tankful of mostly in-town was 17.35 mpg.

I just turned 5000 miles, and I'm averaging just under 17 mpg in an auto limited. Pretty disappointing.

I have a 5 spd,2000 miles, in Denver, w- KN Air filter consistently get 36-29 MPG, howeve, if I run regular instead of mid range gas it instantly dropps to 20 MPG. Try that , maybe it'll help.
