We're approaching 6,000 miles with a limited 5 spd. Worst has been 21 and best was 29. Last three tanks have averaged 28. Mileage really picked after 4,000. We live in a rural mountainous area and majority of mileage is highway. Chrysler really missed the boat by installing 3:91 gears in rear end. The Crusier really needs 3:23's to get it down into torque band at 60 to 65. If you can, try driving 50 to 55 for a tank and watch your mileage improve.

Just got my automatic limited PT on 04/13/01. Three tanks of gas yielded 17.5,20.2, and 21.7 MPG. First tank was all city. 2nd and third were 1/3 highway, 2/3 city. I can live with that.

Hmmm, with automatic I get 24-26 rural driving, no ac on and 28.5-30 on highway trip running speed limit plus. I use Mobil 1 oil and have a freeflow exhaust and K&N filter etc. have gotten this mpg since 4k miles, now have 13K.

Wow, I am extremely envious. I am very happy with my PTC, but would be an extremely happy owner if I got better gas mileage!!! I drive about 100 miles a day during work, and with the high price of gas, I am really disappointed with 15-17 mpg.....

Here I have to drive the traffic of Philadelphia and New York, and I get around 19 mpg. Since the gas is paid for through the company, I don't try to do those conservation things. "Petey" is an automatic and still gets more than the 14-15 that I've been seeing. I have to wonder if the pumps are not true elsewhere, or what's the load on the engine?

Hey, I haven't been on the board in a while. Been too busy crusin' in my new PT. I love my Silver Ltd. Anyway, I read before I got mine that a certain tire pressure would really help the mpg. Anyone know what that was. Got my digital pressure guage. Just need to know what to put them to. A certain tire pressure was supposed to help a lot. I have been making many trips to the gas station myself but she is brand new.
