Default Cheap performance upgrade

While the site was down, a buddy and I both made a slight mod to the cars. Put on a cone air filter from Tenzo (K&N clone). Not a pretty application as we decided to leave the lower air box in place to get any air from the wheel well. Fit right over the existing rubber intake tube, then secured with a hose clamp. We're both getting one or two more MPG, feels like quicker starts, I think it's running a scosh cooler, and sounds pretty kewl. All for $40. Not bad.

Regrettably, I am not current on digital pictures or posting. However, you can see the ribbed rubber "hose" that makes a 90 degree turn from the air cleaner box to the top of the engine. There is a hose clamp that holds the "hose" to the air box. Loosen that, remove the top of the air box and the stock filter. The cone filter I bought slipped right over the existing "hose", and I used a standard hose clamp to fasten it down. The new filter rests on the bottom of the air box, which gives it some support. Sorry I can't post pic, but hope this gives you an idea of how it went together.
