Default Is this normal ?

Has anyone tried this ?
If you have the engine in neutral or park and
give it a lot of gas , it will sound like it is cutting out on ya. I was told that the computer has a setting that prevents the rpms from going to high if not in gear, guess that good. Any way am I right and has anyone else experienced this. You have to really get on the gas.

thanks

There is a rev limiter that comes into effect when the car is out of gear (automatics). This helps to keep people with sub-human intelligence from revving the engine then dropping it into gear so they can light up the tires and impress their other sub-human friends...

Yes this is normal...Most if not all automatics have had this protective divice for a while now for the reasons described above.
