And you mounted yours in a better place than did I. Chances are mine would overheat faster than yours. But my parade is late November, little cooler out.
Imagine a HOT summer day, after driving 100 miles or so- ahooga may MELT! Is that red plastic radiation-hardenend? Probably not. Where did you mount your button by the way?

Sean, I mounted the button in the official standard location (same as on your's), center console between the Traction switch and the Rear Windshield Washer switch. If you ever get in another PT Cruiser and there's a pushbutton switch there, you know what it's for... AHOOGA

On a 1966 Mustang that I have, I installed air trumpets that played Dixie. I installed a switch that allowed me to play either the factory honk or the air horns (depending on the position of the switch) from the horn ring on the steering wheel. Is this possible on the PT? It would allow you to mount the switch in a hidden location (i.e. under dash) and activate it (factory horn or Ahooga) from the steering wheel.
Just wondering. I am putting a (rather large) list of things to do togeather for when I get my PT.

Let me put on the 'ol turbin, hmmmmm...
Yes! I see a 2 pole double throw relay in your future. The NC contacts to the factory horn and the NO contacts to the Ooogah. I see your fingers gunked in sealing compound and your S.O. shaking a head back and forth muttering something about crazyness. I see a wheel well on the ground and a PTE cling on a window. Hmmmm... It is getting fuzzy... |

I like having the push button for the Ahooga horn centered with the lower set of switches on the dash. It looks like it's a starter switch that they used to have on cars. In fact, I used a starter switch for the Ahooga Horn. Of course most of you aren't old enough to remember when cars had starter switches.

Well, I may be younger than ya', but I remember at the age of 14 having to start grandpa's truck by holding down the clutch and the brake while pumping the gas and pressing the starting switch. (All those pedals and the switch were difficult to reach with only 2 feet.) To this day, I still can't figure out why he always parked it on a hill and didn't bump start it.
Then there was the 1963 Olds that had a starter switch hidden away and the only way to activate it was to stomp on the gas pedal real quick and release at the exact moment it started. But since your switch is dash mounted I doubt your talking about the hidden Olds type switch or the foot switch used on International PU's. A chrome shaft, spring assisted return toggle type? Quote:
