Default Do You Know of an "Auto-Stick" for a PT?

I know Chrysler has offered, on other vehicles, a type of Auto-Stick, a shift mechanisim that allows you to select each gear of an automatic when You want to. Does anyone know if it has ever been offered on a car with the same automatic transmission used in the PT?

Of course the next question has to be, if yes to the above, has anyone installed one on a PT?

Thanks,
How

Did you say you needed an "auto-stick" for an actual automobile? Sorry can't help you with THAT one.

The "Auto-stick" was an option on the 2.5L Cloud Cars and I think it is now available on the 300M. I had a Stratus with the AS and it was fun to drive, but no more fun than a real 5 speed manual tranny.

To "add" AS you would have to find some way to replace the existing transmission. Just buy the 5 speed.

A 5 speed was on my original order. It was canceled a couple of weeks ago after waiting 10 months.

Fortunately, Carmax came through for me last December. However it was an automatic. I had actually been torn between the two types of tranny in the first place. Figured I'd be satisfied if I could at least stir the stick a bit more than the auto lets you.

I'd hoped that perhaps changing a valve body and some linkage would get me to the autostick. Suppose I could talk to Art Carr or someone like them.

Thanks,
How

The ECU on the PT has an autostick program already in it. I'm currently researching it a little harder since I'm almost finished with the supercharger install.......what a perfect companion for the extra HP.

I would be interested in what you find out. I drove one once and liked it. Would be neat if you could. Don't like the shifting on the automatic. The Wife doesn't mind. I would like to be able to control second gear a little better.

My father-in-law is retired from Chrysler and advises they have never had an "Auto-Stik" set- up for a 4 cylinder engine. We had a Sebring Convertible with the "Auto-Stik" and now have a 300-M with it (only transmission type available). It's a great way to handle an automatic transmission. Gotta tell ya, I wish they had it for the PTC, along with about 50 more horses!
