That's right, Bob. It's my fault. I just knew RN would start name calling (where he never did before). I just gotta stop abusing that gift of prophecy I have.

There are many cars faster then STI also . I dont claim any HP numbers or I never have . But I have smoked a WRX and a new Ram air blackbird trans am just for a few. U make comparisions that are crazy why dont u try statring with a car that doesnt make 300 hp to start. I dont think u will ever be happy with a PT knowing u will get your A$$ kicked by a STI.
And everyone wants to say that phatdad's racial slurs are not a personal attack because he didn't identify any user in particular. That's a horrible policy. So I guess I can say what I want if I don't "name names?" Phatdad sounds like an ignorant bigot. If anyone thinks I'm making an attack, it's not. It's an observation - read his post again. I'm leaving PTE because this intolerance and blatant hatred demonstrated by people like phatdad ruin this forum for everyone.

We just went thru hurricane Isabel here in Va. and my electric has been out till about an hour ago.
That is why I didn't reply to this post earlier.

As for PTRobert's post---------------------

WHAT A LOAD OF PURE CRAP. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've met Phatdad (Larry) a couple times and he certainly doesn't impress me as being ignorant, OR being a bigot.
It would help, before making these types of, uh-- "observations" that you KNEW what you were talking about.
In this case, you THINK you know.
Thinking you know what you are talking about and actually knowing what you are talking about, are two different things.
Your post is a perfect example of that.

As far as this forum being ruined for "everyone"??????

Once more--- ANOTHER giant leap, based on what *YOU* think.
I think I'm right in saying * YOU* are FAR from "everyone", plus *YOU* cannot and most certainly do not, speak for "everyone".

I, personally, get REAL TIRED of these overly sensative people that get offended at the drop of a pin.
I could say, BOO !!, in a room with 100 people in it and most likely 2 or 3 would be offended.
It seems there are people in this world that make an effort to look for something to be offended by, so that they can get on their holier then thou highhorse.

If you feel that the post by Phatdad is reason enough to leave this forum, that is just plain ridiculous and not even worth further comment.

---- PTE IS THE BEST FORUM OUT THERE----
it's made up of alot of different people, some who don't necessarily weigh every word they say, because they are afraid of offending some overly sensitive and easily offended individual.

I can see where some people would be offended by those remarks. I use those terms myself & they have nothing to do with Japan or the Japanese people. I worked on ships in the navy & merchant marine until I retired & have nothing but the greatest respect for the Japanese people I worked with..(& played with)(shhhhh)..but... since the Honda Dream in the '60s, their machines will always be rice burners to me...& my Yanmar tractor will always be a jap. Sorry but my vocabulary & attitudes were formed mostly on ships, so I really don't give a crap if someone doesn't like the way i express myself & I'm sure that phatdad feels the same....If he had used those terms in describing a person, that would be different, but to be offended for an insult to a machine is kind of silly.

I've asked Scott to close this thread.

As far as I'm concerned, he can delete the whole thing if he wants to.
