What? Renichms still hasn't weighed in here? What is he, sick or something?

Isn't Brad pretty close now to STi range?

With all the stuff he's done, he's definitely past the WRX range and closing in on the STi. His last dyno had 45 less HP, but 30 more lb./ft. of torque. I've always heard HP was for bragging rights, but torque is what gets you doen the road.

I check in every now and then. Whoever made the ricer comment above obviously hasn't been in or ever seen a WRX and knows nothing about them. Too bad...it's a great car.

A fully modded Stockum PT I can see beating a WRX from a roll, especially if the WRX is stock and an auto. Modify the WRX and the Stockum special goes down, unfortunately. Go against an STi with a Stockum PT and the PT will go down hard. And Brad's isn't in stock STi territory until he hits low 13 second quarter miles and no 120 mph speed limiter. I have yet to see a PT (short of the drag racer but then again, you'd have to toss upcoming window statement...) do 140 mph with the windows down.

Not trying to crack on PTs, as I love mine and still have it, but performance-wise, even the highly modified PTs aren't going to stack up so well against a modded WRX. It also depends on driver.

I'm still waiting for my parts for my PT, so unfortunately, I can't do a side-by-side comparison. I'm not sure if they will all ever get here. It's about time to give up hope...I've been waiting since early April.

RN

EDIT: On a different note, I managed to get the PT in the driveway with no scraping, no CEL, no tire or clutch burning...flawless.

Default ricers still suck

WRX subs are a easy car to smoke an STI is a diff. story. I cant understand why u are building a PT. I cant wait to hear u gripeing about how certain cars made u cry and how u should be killin them. Who the frig cares about WRXS . Anyone can go to the dealer and buy one of those bug eyed chopstick pavement slappers. I have the satisfaction of knowing I have a very fast car and 1 of only a handfull in the country. Why dont u buy a WRXXXXXXXXXXX and hang out on WRXXXXXXXXX boards. There are many cars faster then STI also . I dont claim any HP numbers or I never have . But I have smoked a WRX and a new Ram air blackbird trans am just for a few. U make comparisions that are crazy why dont u try statring with a car that doesnt make 300 hp to start. I dont think u will ever be happy with a PT knowing u will get your A$$ kicked by a STI.

I am on WRX forums, as I DO have an STi. I have owned a PT for over 3 years and been showing it for quite some time. Check older posts or ask around and you'll know I've been here a while. I'm also building the PT's engine...of course, I've only posted that ALL OVER PTE. Where have you been?

Jealousy is a killer. I can see why you'd talk trash about a WRX. One day, I hope, you will grow out of this immature phase. I can appreciate both the PT and the WRX, yet you seem quite intolerant. You also seem to think all owners are ricers and that they're crap. Perhaps you should research before you open your mouth and say something so incredibly stupid.

If you're going to try this again, at least know what you're talking about. It's obvious you don't know the first thing about me, my PT or WRX's in general. Clueless.

Whoa easy killer. Both the PT and WRX are great cars. You can't beat the AWD off the line (I know, I tried against a 2001 Subaru 2.5 RS). After that it's fair game. Depending on the boost and the driver, every situation differs. While the STi is an amazing car with great EVERYTHING, you can still smoke it if the driver doesn't know what he/she is doing. Performance wise I would have to go with the Scooby. Have you ever seen a 700 hp street legal PT!? I think not. The great thing about a heavily modded PT is that no one expects it. I would rather beat the pants off of another car in a PT than a Subaru because it's like "WTH!?! I got burned by a station wagon?!" You would have a greater satisfaction level, in my opinion. In conclusion, both cars are awesome. Have fun and don't worry about which is better.
