I realize you want to stage the upgrades, but maybe there is a way to work the Hahn, with some creative math. ha,ha. If you are at all mechanically inclined, you could do your own installation. The manual that comes with the turbo is first class, lots of pictures and it will guide you thru the installation and tuning, step by step. If and when you get the kit, you most likely will open the box, take all the stuff out and put it on the floor and say to yourself, " what in the he!! have I gotten into " After a day of looking at the parts and looking thru the manual, you'll probably say " well, this isn't too bad " ------------------------------------------------ I ran the stage 1 with no other upgrades for a long time. Stage 1 makes the PT a completely different car. Based on what you say you are looking for, chances are real good, that you would be content with stage 1. If not, and you want to stay on a budget, you could get a Ford Probe intercooler off ebay, or at a wrecking yard for $75.00 to $100.00 and add it. Just adding the intercooler made a very noticeable difference in power to my car. Kinda surprised me. As for reliability, I've had the Hahn on for over 30,000 miles now. The PT is my only car and I use it every day for work, going from one account to another, all kinds of driving and it has proven to be 100% reliable. Hot weather, cold weather, it does fine, and there have been NO issues with tuning or problems due to design. Bill Hahn did a great job of putting together a system that won't turn your PT into a problem child, where 3 months down the road you'll be saying, "Dang, I wish I never put this thing on". Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide ![]() Last edited by OC Cruzer : 21st September 2003 at 12:01 PM. |
