I don't think either one is outa the box ready to go . To add the supercharger you must cut the engine compartment up to fit. To add turbo you'll be customizing exhaust > Both you need to do something about fuel delivery . The $1200.00 you save will be pennies by the time you work out all the little issues that installers already have answers for . If you're an experienced mechanic and have the facilites and tools available I humbly apologize. Just understand that either of these solutions are not plug and play like intakes/catback exhaust .

check out,
www.bstockum.com I went with the Hahn turbo a couple years ago and love it. Bob Stockum did the installation for me. If you check his webpage, he shows the Hahn installation step by step. It will give you an idea of what you need to do if you decide to install it yourself. ( Check Debbie's install and Al's install.) His site is FULL of info. The Hahn is not hard to install and tune. The manual that comes with it is excellent and guides you thru the installation and tuning step by step. I use my car everyday for work. All kinds of driving and have had no problems. It's been on for about 30,000 miles now. As far as I know the Hahn has no "issues" and never has. It comes with it's own intake. Sorry, can't help with your other questions. LandHo,Go with the Hahn Turbo. You can do it yourself without any problems if you keep the boost at around 6psi. The Hahn turbo comes with its own K&N type air intake...the old one will not fit. You could remove components and return to stock. The only modifications that occur to your existing set up is to drill the oil pan and the gas tank for additional lines. If you removed the Hahn you could plug those up. I'm not sure about the strut bar but I think it can remain...will let you know in a couple of weeks when mine is put back together. Now, if your going to anticipate going for more power and raising the boost over 6-8 psi then that is a different story. See Bob Stockums site and ask him about it. You'll have to beef up the engine...that means, rods, pistons, etc. But if you stay stock Hahn set up you will be OK and you can do it yourself. Da Brain. ![]() |

The Hahn is actually a plug & play...Bought the kit, had it professionally installed ($1400), added a glass pack muffler & duals & now she runs like a deer. I only use 4# of boost so no intercooler at present. 10,000 miles with the turbo including a cross country trip of almost 6,000 miles through the desert in mid summer with NO problems (other than heat build up after shutdow which I am curing with a louvered hood). I've had to make a few minor adjustments to the fuel pressure when the weather changes but that's probably not really necessary. For trouble free/go fast, go turbo.

If you can leave the boost alone at 4-6 psi, ... you will be as close to plug and play as possible. If you have already added a freer exhaust, .... all the better. The Hahn kit will be a MARKED-improvement, .... just as it comes! It can also be upgraded very easily later, without throwing the existing stuff away. You simply add the intercooler, a larger set of injectors and the Crane boost retard ignition at that time, up the boost to 8 psi. Those 4 things will add about 60 horse power!! (IC, injectors, Crane Ignition and 8 psi boost). ... an insxpensive BOV is a good idea too!
BUT BE WARNED !! go *** "NO" *** further until you do the bottom end!! .... if you have detonation and keep your foot in it, .... it could get UGLY, .... even at 8 psi boost. So the ability to tune your turbo system is very important! I will be glad to assist you in the install and tuning of your system. I can even save you some bucks on the kit and upgrades when you are ready for them. Bob |

Go turbo...I got all the parts for a full build. If PT sells, they go with it and hopefully it becomes a beast. If it does not sell, I build it and make a beast of it anyways.
