Just the 3" tips are stainless. The rest of the system is 21/2" mandrel bend aluminum. Hence, 1/2 the cost of SS systems. Still the best bang for the buck. In my opinion anyway.

Default Heartthrob Duals - Rattles in the Left Rear - PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi there,

I have had them installed since the begining of June. I have a rattle in the left rear, only in Idle situations. Any help in this matter would be great. I had the dealer install them, been back once and they couldn't find it, I am thinking I may have to visit a muffler shop... Reply here or PM Me.... Thanks......

Dealer installed it? Sigh.
Get to an exhaust shop ASAP. Before something falls off.

They will probably spot some bracket or other that was not mentioned in the instructions and require a bit of creativity to set up. Creativity is a trait that has been pretty much eliminated from dealer mechanics.

Especially if it is a product that replaces one found in their parts catalog!

Anyone have any pictures of the Heartthrob system installed? The one from JC Whitney isn't particularly detailed.

Thanks in advance.

Looks pretty good TomCat, and Crush thanks again for the ones you email me.

TomCat, what wheels are those? I was just looking at a tire/wheel combo from TireRack yesterday, and I think those are one of the combos I looked at.

Todd, the wheels & tires are indeed from Tire Rack.

Default Update on Heartthrob problem

Hi everyone,

I fews weeks ago, I posted here with a problem of a rattle or something not right with the duals. After having the time to get it to a shop that deals with exhausts and custom setups. They found that the problem I am hearing is the baffles on the inside of the glasspack mufflers in the rear have rusted and become lose inside the muffler. They figure do to the upswept tips, and no drain hole, this was the cause of the problem. I called JC Whitney, they are sending me a new rear section to replace the defective piece. When I recieve them, besides painting them black again, I am going to drill a drain hole for the water to get out, so this will not happen again.
