I have been hearing a lot positive feedback regarding the recalibrating of the compuper chip to obtain 25 horsepower.
This seems like the easiest way to get 25-30 horsepower in the base motor PT. From what I hear, you have to use premium fuel however the gas mileage is not hurt in this process. Has anyone done this upgrade ? What tips do might you have on the procedure? (The procedure is $350 and guaranteed!!) Thanks Bill |

I think it's more like 17 horsepower. They state on their site that no one will know it has been done. That bothers me because are they pushing the engine too hard ?. If you take your car in for service and the dealer flashes your Computer witch they do if there is a factory upgrade your lose the Kenny Bell program. If that happens they will charge you again The way they get the extra horsepower is by playing with the air/fuel ratio and advancing the timing. There is no free lunch It's not worth taking a chance on damaging your engine. The PCM from Chrysler is set up for all kinds of conditions. I wonder how much research they did to protect the engine. No thanks I'll pass

I had it done last year. You can do a search for more detail on my experience.
I can gaurantee you will not see 17+ HP. Possibly 5-7. I believe they have done a significant amount of testing as to keep the engine within safe parameters.

don't they say its about 17 for an auto tranny & about 5-7 for a manual?
