tells the computer every thing is in order when in fact it is not, if I was to take the cat off and run a straight pipe in its place it would trip a check engine light, (o2 sensor after cat) so the mil elimiator just lies to the computer

If you get caught removing the CAT you could get as much as a $ 15,000 fine.

If he is asking about removing them, I boubt the fine is a concern. It wasent for me any way. Mine was as illegal as it could be, Mine was pulled of the street because it was lowered. (No more than 2 inches up or down in Maryland) I had done to much to it to beable to return it io stock height so i sold it instead. NOt only was there no cats. but it was a carb motor swaped in to a Fuel Injected car ( not legal in MD). No smog pump. Narrowed frame. 29x12.50 Sportsman tires. ( no more than 2 sizes larger or smaller in MD). Ets ...Etc. Alli got was a inspection because it was to low.

I have been street racing since the late '80s with several if us not using cats. 99.999% of the cops will not think to check for them. They are to worried about us running from them to bend down and look under the cars. Most tickets were for having slicks on the street. Even if they do issue a 'fix-it ticket' you have 30 days till it has to be signed off. Any body running this kind of setup will have the proper system in the garage to switch to if needed.

Emitions fines are for the most parts handed out at the testing stations. So you have warning to change it back. Arround here random stations lasted about 6 months because they did not catch enuf people to make them worth wile.

There are several manufactures making high flow cats.

Random technologies
Catco
Dynomax
Holly

Just do a google search...

Recently I had to add a Cat to my Sammy which never had one from day one I opted for a high flow Cat.. I noticed a slight drop in performance but I was able to pass the smog test with flying colours
