Does anybody know what the amount of travel is on the clutch pedal - slave cylinder. I'm tring to figure out of i need to replace it. My clutch does not disengage when I put the clutch pedal down. I checked the Chrysler repair manual and could not find the info.
Thanks in advance, ARM Djife1 |

There is a superceeded number on these Hydr units !! They are failing all over the place.
What Chrysler seems to be doing on all these parts, (like the weak P.O.S. cam belt tensioner), is they are re-designing the parts and "slipping them into the system", (like a silent TSB), that way, they don't have to suffer the bad press. .... When someone comes in with a cam belt or clutch problem, ... they just switch to the newly designed part and the customer never knows about it. The problem with DJIFE's situation is, ... the dealer would automaticly say it is the aftermarket clutch and refuse to warranty it, .... when in reality, ... these slave cylinder assemblies are dying all over the country on perfectly stock PTs. The superceeded part number is 4668632AD ... $100 list price. At least they are working to fix some of the "RUSH TO MARKET" problems for us! ... can you believe I gave them some credit ? ! !Bob |

The number and price came from the dealer. I was looking for a TSB on it, ... but did not find one. My dealer had replaced one and a fellow in SC had his done under warranty and noticed the "dash-pot" or cushion device that is in the line going to the slave cylinder, was not on there any more. When he asked about it, ... he was told it was removed as per the new clutch cylinder instructions. BUT Chrysler is NOT telling us what is wrong, ... they are being very, ..... "SS" ... about it!
