Question Question about N2O??

Yes, I know you all have said in the past that the stock internals cant take much over 200hp is that at the wheels or crank? Also which shot of nitrous would keep me in the safezone. I will prolly never use this kit other then dyno runs or something. I want it strictly for show so any help will be appreciated.

Do a search for the word "nitrous".

You'll see a lot of my text and test results.

My dyno runs from last weekend are:

stock = 110hp from an engine rated at 150hp.
With a 75hp shot of nitrous using #42NOS and #18 fuel jets = 190.3hp

These numbers are at the wheels.
The math shows a 26% drivetrain loss. This means I have 258hp at the crank with the juice.

I've been through over 25 10lb bottles, so durability isn't a problem.

That's some nice HP MX, .... just remember to let the folks know, .... that you know how to tune an engine. Correcting any lean conditions and testing it out carefully, before running the hell out of it! ... It's the ones that "slap it on" and detonate the engine, ... for WHATEVER REASON, ... that will be picking up pieces of their engine off the street!!

I've now seen 5 non turbo and two SC'd and a hand full of turbocharged first gen 2.4 PT's and Stratus engines, that had rods fail from hard usage/abusage. The rods will go first and there will be NO warning, ..... just "big noise", ... then $ilence!

Been there, --- done that.

Bob

Bob is correct.

You'll see dyno graphs posted in my dyno run thread. They show the air/fuel ratio. I keep it WAY rich to avoid detonation. There is probably 20hp I could gain by leaning out the mix, but I'm not ready to buy new pistons and connecting rods quite yet.

How would at 25 shot do on a Turbo DC2? What problems would I run into?

Ask AT58.

He ran a 75hp shot on top of the GT turbo and made gobs (the technical term) of hp and torque.

Look at my dyno threads.
