Mopar Performance Parts Warranty
Mopar Performance Parts are sold "as is," without any warranty whatsoever. Implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are excluded. The entire risk as to quality and performance of such parts is with the buyer. Should such parts prove defective following their purchase, the buyer and not the manufacturer, distributor or retailer, assumes the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repair. Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep® vehicle and parts warranties are voided if the vehicle or parts are used for competition or if they fail as a result of modification. That last one is the real killer! .... you didn't really think that Chrysler was going to give you 275 to 300 HP from your 4 banger, ..... and STILL honor the warranty, ... now did you?! Bob ![]() |

At least one issue is DC's control/lack of control of dealers. When rumors of the Stage upgrades first surfaced, I sent DC an email asking for details/information. They wrote back and said that I should talk to my Dealer Service Mgr. I did this and got no response.
When the website appeared giving details/part #'s, I sent these to my dealer (Lithia Motors, Missoula, MT) and asked again for a price on the installation of a number of items (gauges, springs AND the upgrade). After the customary silence, I followed up and got the rather astounding response that they were not interested in doing ANY of the work; that they would not work on anything that was not factory installed--an astounding display of total disregard for customer service (which, IMHO, is directly correlated with quality of product). And Chrysler has said this is a 5-star dealership. This is the same dealership which sold me the car and the 7 yr/70K mile extended warranty. It is one thing to respond to the developing market for performance vehicles (chase the buck); it is another to do so at the expense of the customer ("you'll buy these things, so we'll make them, but that's as far as we commit"). I purchase vehicles fairly frequently. Except for a Jeep Cherokee 15 years ago, this is my first experience with DC. It will be my last. Those familiar with the research will also note that while the satisfied customer will likely tell 4 acquaintances of his/her experience, the disgruntled customer will likely tell 11-15 acquaintances. |

DC is esitmating that you can do it in your driveway in about 1.5 hours. What in gods name is that dealership thinking?

I brought in a box full of the Cruise Control parts, and they installed it without any issues. They actually under-charged for the installation because it was the first time that they had done such an operation. Now on the other hand, getting warranty work or anything like that done can be an infuriating experience with them. Yeah, they say they're a .5 Star, but I have to wonder how. I would laugh my ass off if the other DCX dealership in town (which has been around for decades, vs Lithia's four years) stole the 5 Star program. Lithia bought out an old chain of dealerships, but didn't bother to replace any of the employees. Same old sorry Service Reps.My step-dad works for the oldest Ford dealership in the state (which I also won't ever go to again) and even he has heard of the poor style of my Service Rep and his co-horts. P.S. Lithia also gave me a 7/100 Warranty, with a $0 Deductible! The DCX paperwork says that no one, not even DCX, can change the deductible amount, ever. At least it's on file that way. |
