Thanks!

Yes, I ran at Hallavile Raceway in Hallsville, TX just east of Longview in East Texas. Overtake is right about the helmet, except it is based on ET, not MPH. See below.

From the rulebook:

Proper clothing must be worn in restricted areas at all times. (Drivers must wear long pants, sleeved shirts & toed shoes to race) (Crews must wear sleeved shirts & toed shoes). I really hate the long pants part as I pretty much wear shorts year around.

For 13.99 or quicker cars, the driver must wear a helmet meeting SNELL 90, 95 or SFI 31.1, 31.2, 41.1 or 41.2 specs.

Seat belt mandatory in all cars, SFI 16.1 highly recommended. No matter what is used it must be installed correctly

nice runs!
Welcome to the club!
I can't wait to see what my 5spd manual will do with similar mods, though I will have a 3" turbo back single outlet, and boost set at ~14 with a Turbo XS RFL blow off valve.. should be an interesting summer as more and more turbo PT owners make it to the tracks.
I'm *really* interested to see who the first person to hit 13's is!

Lightbulb Hallsville Dragway

Hey Dave,
My very first trip to a Dragstrip was at the old downhill strip in Hallsville in 1961! Guess I'm dating myself here, but I went with my best friend's big brother and crew in a '55 Ford and a '56 Chevy. Heck I even remember the details and the guys names! The "top eliminators" of the day were 1960 Chevies with tri-power 348 engines running 14 second e.t.'s!
We were living in Shreveport, La. at the time and it was a short trip. I was hooked! Do you remember the old strip? Probably before your time, but I thought it was worth a little discussion. Old memories die hard, but I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday! LOL!

No, this was my first and probably last trip to Hallsville. I had no problem with the strip or anything like that, it's just too far from where I live to make it a habit. I just needed to get to a 1/4 mile strip to see where I was with my GT.

Don't worry about a 160 stat. Unless you can control your fan to make it come on earlier or you drive exclusively in a very cold climate, it will not make a difference. 160 is just where it opens, the running temp is not where it opens. Also, unless you have been able to crack the code in the computer and know for sure, you may not be in "closed loop" until you get up to temp. Most computer controlled cars need to get into the 180 range to go closed loop. Lastly, heat is power. Just getting a car to run at a cooler temp does not make more power...to a certain extent. I have seen comparison dyno runs that show a stock 192(if I rmember right) stat against a 180 in the same mustang made more HP.

just my $0.02

Hey Dave, Great job!! My best was 13.86 after I installed my Slowboy Racing Billet manual boost controler set at 15, spikes to 16 and 13.74 after I took the back seats out!

What else have you done to your cruiser besides the boost controller. Is yours a 5-speed? That is one full second faster than mine!

Hey Now! Wait a minute here. This is the first 13 sec. PT I have heard of. I know a guy here in AZ that has run his SRT-4 a few times and has come up with very low 14 sec runs.
You need to post some more details as well as times slips.
Thanks
Ant
