![]() http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...6/fc0d3d8a.jpg (fixed the contrast..much easier to read!) throw an .orig.jpg on the end to see the 'full size' That was running *WITH* the spare tire, *WITH* the rear seats in place, 100% stock, with the stock airfilter, stock exhaust, etc. etc.. and 92 octane gas, tires (stock RSA's on the 17" chrome rims) at 40psi all around, traction control off, and some pretty bad wheel spin/hop resulted in a 2.29 sixty foot *bad as far as things are concerned but whatever* and ignore the R/T. I left the llights late on purpose, that purpose being focus more on a clean run and breaking into the 14's than trying to keep up/pace the car in the next lane. I still cant find my other 14.9 run with a higher MPH from that night, but when I do I will post it. All in all for 100% stock i was *VERY* impressed I am car 854, and these were all run at Great Lakes Dragaway a few weeks ago. And I will be going back again SOON, with motor/trans mounts in hopefully. by the way i made ~8 runs back to back with no cooling of the motor and towards the end of the night my MPH was still right with the first runs of the night. And i learned that my rear drive/all wheel drive racing experiance did NOTHING to help my lack of front drive experaiance as far as drag racing is concerned. I'm a HUGE rookie there! I've got lots to learn, but I'm VERY much looking forward to it. On another random note, it was turning heads and causing QUITE a stir after the 14 second run, TONS of people were running up to the car and asking what was done to it, what motor, and were SHOCKED to hear it was fully stock! Personally I think it was quite the performer. OH yeah it's a GT 5 speed manual with leather, heated seats, and a sunroof if that counts for anything other than extra weight. ![]()

Excellent runs...looks like I'll need to re-run with the Trac-control off next time. You said you were changing motor/tranny mounts, where are you getting those? Changing to a poly mount would help somewhat with the wheel hop. Spinning a little I don't mind but wheel hop will eventually take it's toll and I'd hate having it towed to the dealership for some "warranty work".
When you post your next time slip you might try changing the contrast to make it easier to read for those of us over 50 and have bad eye sight Deen P.S. On your best 60 ft. times what were you leaving the line at RPM wise? Were you feathering or dropping the clutch?

sorry about that, I'll crank the contrast up next time.
As far as leaving the line, i was slipping the clutch from 1500 rpm, sounds low, but it worked fairly well with the stock RSA's at street pressure. The mounts themselves will be SRT mounts as the techs I've talked to all say the motor/trans mounts are the same, so I'll be going with those. Once i get back home I'll pull up all the information and throw the link on them up as well. |

Thanks!
Overtake - I'd definatly look forward to meeting you and checking out your *SWEET* force fed tribal flamed cruiser as well (you have one of my ALL time favorite tribal paint jobs! It's *gorgeous*)Hopefully soon I'll have enough time to organize an informal 'meet and greet' type PT meet in the Milwaukee area, similar to what a bunch of other enthusiast clubs I've been in done, nothing club related, just a bunch of enthusiasts with like interests getting together and checking out everybody's rides and talking cars... Anyhow.. The ultimate goal for the cruiser is a 12 second street driven cruiser, as for if i ever get there? who knows, but even if i don't I'm still having one AWESOME time with the cruiser.

It was a early 90s GT Mustang I believe. Sounded pretty decent but why was the fool trying to race me? Must have thought I had a turbo or something.
