I "slapped" 1 of those turbo's on also
What are your power level goals? 200 or 400 or more? The 5 speed will hold a good amount of power, that should not be your first area of concern. Upgrading your clutch assembly should be the area of concentration. Look into Clutchmasters staged units. How many places do you live anyway?

Hahaha. Ok, first off, the location thing. I'm from northern Los Angeles, but moved to Flint, MI for school (GMI). My school has a co-op program where I work for an automotive company. In my case, Toyota in KY. My power goal is to beat my roommate's Fiero with a 3800SC in it. So, however much that takes. I'm guessing around 300, if possible. I am planning on getting pretty much what you have in your car, plus a limited slip differential, ceramic coating, and possibly a Rage 4 puck clutch kit (but I'll look into the Clutchmaster).

The 4 puck is good for racing but sucks for daily driving! They tend to have a off or on effect there is very little feathering the clutch. For a weekend warrior it may do ok but would be a huge headach in rush hour traffic.

Thanks Mark1. I know that the 4 puck is pretty rough on the street. A couple of my friends that race their cars have the 4 puck clutch. They all say that it's rough at first until you "become one with the clutch", but after that you kinda learn to deal with it. I also want something that will really work well during an autocross. I've heard that the 4 puck works good. I guess I just have to figure out a way to have the positive impact outweigh the negative.

Yeah, but if you can't "become one" it is a lot of work to swap a clutch and they definitely will not take them back. I am sure there must be some intermediate solution between the 4 puck and stock. I have used Centerforce in other cars and I like them a lot. Easy clutch but they really grab. I am pretty sure that they make one for the Cruiser. Lots of racing is done on Centerforce clutchs.

Powertrip and Bob Stockum have told me, at least, they still have the existing tranny...no swap needed so far. If I BREAK mine, I'll swap, but not until then...or until I see that coming.
