I, of course, will be in Toronto, with the PT here, for those dates! So I hope those who do go, have fun!

So what size/hp jets did you use?
A nice 60hp gain there!
Still gonna try NOS with the Whipple?
Would it be easier with a dry system over wet?

I'm using a #22 fuel and a #42 nitrous jet @56psi fuel and 850-1150psi of nitrous.

The 60hp should be the advertised 75hp when I get a smaller fuel jet in there.

The Whipple guy who now owns the nitrous kit has not been jumping at the chance to install it. I don't know the details.

There's no way to use a dry system. The fuel pressure regulator is inside the fuel tank. There's no way to boost the pressure and get enough extra fuel to match the nitrous. Installing an extra fuel pump would be ridiculous compared to the single fuel solenoid of a wet system. The wet system is infinitely more tunable.

Cool beans, MX-5 and thanks for the great info, but maybe not all those mods are "wasted"...you think?

With that said have youdone the math on what you figure the gain to be from just those two mods? If any.
Im trying to remember the math (its been a few years since I worried about power. Add 20% due to driveline right for covert to at the motor??

Great info. My dyno on my 2001 had the same power range as far as peak and fall off. My muffler has plates that you can remove to get a straight through or open, and it raised the peak power up the rpms to 5500 but then dropped off like a rock.

There is no need to mess with the limiter.

How much is the nitrous set up installed?

That all depends on how safe you want to be.

The basic kit without any safety is about $500.
Add a bottle heater, pressure gauges, purge valves, etc.... and it gets up around $1K.

Installation is your choice. Do it yourself, or pay a speed shop.

We've got quite a crowd signed up for the next dyno day.

Several more PTs have seen this post and are joining me.

Anyone else interested should contact me prior to June 10th.
You have 2 weeks.

you will see a noticable diffrecn with a smaller jet,, for the fuel, , and it most liekly isnt the motors inablity to make power at the top end,, its the inablity of the power nozel to flow more than a set rate
that is makeing the figures lower,
you are sticking the same amount of fuel and nos, in the motor but as you increase speeed of the revolotions, you are getting less and less nos and fuel in the cylenders, , hence another reason a turbo system is better, it grows more boost as the rpms in crease,,
, that is the reason why the have 2 stage and 3 stage nitrous systems, ,, to match the higher revolutuions, if you hit the motor when it is just starting with all 3 stages of nitrous it will blow sky high, as there would be a ton of it in the cyclnders, because the valves would be open so long.
some on made a great anology for me,,
think of it as a pasta cutter,
theres a set amount of pasta, , you control the length of the nodels by the speed of the cutter,
same as in an engine.
at slow rpm, you are getting big noddels,
at high rpm, short nodels,,
LOL<
, not that you didnt know this mx,, but maybe some of the others can use the info,
