I've had mine since last summer and I love 'em to death. They have a nice deep tone, not a "fartpipe". There's a bit of a drone at about 75mph and they can be a bit loud (but very mellow) under hard acceleration, but nothing annoying. They don't even bother my wife, although she may not be an unbiased witness because she drives the "Dot Rod", an '02 white woody.
I had the dealer install 'em which he did for free beause I bought them there and have had no problems at all. Best of all, it's an official mopar part installed by a dealer so I won't have any warranty problems. I say .... Go for it! ![]() |

I am going to get the duals when they come out with the turbo specific application soon. I have used borlas on cars for years and have been very happy with them. They are not loud until you put your foot in it, then they come alive. I have considered others but I am going to stick with what I know.

I have the Borla single pipe, dual tips, on a 5-speed. I put it on myself with no problems. There is some drone in the 3000rpm range. Not overwhelming though. Borla has a venturi which can be installed just ahead of the muffler, I think, which some say reduces the drone significantly.
The sound is mellow, not like a V8 that we all want, but not like the raspy pipes on so many rice burners either. Borla used to have a sound clip on their web site. Haven't checked lately. There was a thread in these forums back in the time frame when I bought mine which basically concluded that with a single cat, single long pipe, single mufler, the dual pipes are mostly for looks and they do look good. But I got mine on Ebay for a great price. ![]()

i am happy with the borla/mopar 2.5" dual system. it comes with a long stainless resonator instead of the straight section of pipe that the 2.25" system comes with and it's cheaper. the resonator is the key. i took it out and put a straight section of pipe and it sounded like crap. with the res. in there it's really low.
only problem i have with it is that it's not an actual 2.5". i have spent some time on the phone with part numbers trying to find out what the hell is going on. borla says the part # i have is the 2.25" system. wyckoff chrysler opened both systems and measured them. what borla/mopar call the 2.5" system is actually just 2.25" and what they call the 2.25" system is 2". to most people they wouldn't even care but that p!ssed me off. i ordered a 2.5" exhaust because that's what i wanted, not a 2.25". that's the only problem with it. it has gotten smashed between the rear axel and some of the suspension linkage too, but that's because of the progress springs and konis. do i like it? yes would i ever buy a borla/mopar item again? no i would just stick to ordering it from borla. it's a little more, but you don't mess with the missizing of it all. mike

Mike,
How long is the resonator section in the straight pipe? Thanks, Ward

it's the whole lenght of the straight section. the resonator bolts to the cat piping and it goes the whole lenght of the car. where it stops is where the ex. piping turns to go over the axel. so that's about 4 feet maybe. it's stinking huge, but it is all stainless and looks pretty nice. i am putting a cutout right behind it for drag racing. i started up the car with just the resonator on it and it sounds pretty wicked.

It's great, it kinda burbles at idle and deceleration.
