Question 5 spd GT vs. auto. GT???

I've herad about the hesitation on the autos between shifting. Does it also do it with the 5 speeds?

I don't have a GT, but my 5 spd. don't have no stinkin' hesitation!

I test drove an autostick Turbo and I got the 5 speed dreamer.
Did not notice any hesitation in either but the autostick
was a little wierd as far as shifting it manualy goes with the clicking it to the right motion. but I was wanting a 5 speed any way..
I think the 5 speed is a bit peppier

i have test driven both and i liked the 5 speed better, the autostick was just kind of weird to me, cause it didn't really shift when you wanted to, kind of a delay in the shift after bumpin the sitck, just my personal opinion though

Test drove both the autostick and the 5-speed. No hesitation in the 5-speed.

That's 'cause like all the rest of the "manumatics", you still have to play "mother may I?" with the tranny's computer.

At least with the 5-speed, it's all YOU making the decisions, for better or worse.

Well put! The manual tranny enables you to get the most out of your engine, and that's especially true with turbos.

Although there is no delay is shifting with a Turbo 5 speed and it is capable of "Power Shifting", there is a significant delay in rpm's dropping after the clutch is disengaged with no throttle applied when shifting normally. I presume it is Emmissions Related. My old PT only exhibited this phenomenon when the air conditioner was on. Without air, the revs dropped quickly upon clutch depression. I don't like the symptom but have driven other brands of new turboed 5 speeds and they do the same thing.

Achr,
I posted a question about the same thing but got no reply (Is there a fix?) The slow drop in RPM for the 5-spd. is irritating and will over the long haul require us to replace clutche discs prematurly. I'm hoping DC will come out with a computer fix when they finally release the HP upgrade packages. Deen
