Ah yes I'm back in NY and my big Kool Aid smile followed me all the way home from Virginia. I feel like I'm driving a totally different car now. Bob, I wanna thank you and your family for your hospitality. Anyone out on the forums who needs some engine work or turbo work Bob is the man you need to see. Have to go look for that Audi S4 so I can go put a hole in it's A$$

OK, I'm a jealous GT owner. How much would be involved to switch out the factory turbo for the Hahn unit?

(@ 14 PSI the charge temp at the turbo was 285F, ... the temp at the TB was 114F)

would be nice for a base line on mine, .... (did you get your AUX fuel pump to work yet? .... you drove it an awful long time, with no extra fuel pressure!!!!) Page 29 of the Hahn instruction clearly tells you where the fuel pressures MUST be on the road test proceedure, ... as well as what to look for if the fuel pressure is "not" at the 60 to 90 levels REQUIRED!!! ... I still can't figure out how or why, ... you drove the car for weeks, ... with insufficient fuel pressure, .... risking your engine!! Yet it tells you to look for a blown fuse at the AUX pump, ... right in the instructions!

Be careful, ..... DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!! .....

114 and what was the temp out side,
thats really low,
, i only drove it 2 times with the fuel press low, for the other times, i drove another car,

when i did have to drive it,

i kept it under 2500 ish rpms and air rated it a bit with the bov set to dump off most of the boost, and never even set off the lean light on the o2 sensor, ,
not much diffrent than running it normaly,
it wanst that big a deal and only did it in a pinch.
most peeps dont have a bov, or know how to use it to bleed while there is positve press, and no vacume,
( i do) it so easy,
and it was hella cold at that time,

something was wrong with the way i wired the pump up,
i had press, so i fgured it was runing, and i was mistaken to think that if it wasnt working the would be no press, ( flow threw) as i had 60 , had a godd fuse, had ground had power, , the relay was clicking
,
i check the ground right at the pump and wired a hot wire straight to the battery, and i made sure it was sparkign a whole lot, being by the gas and all,, lol,,

and man that pump was loud,,, i never had it going even once,,
LOL,
so i trashed the crappy relay they supplied, and got one of my
bosch mini giants, and pulled a direct key on .
no problems,
,,
though there is one,,
the fuel pump seems to have a momentary turn on until there is actual rpms from the motor,, i couldnt find that exact wire, so i pulled a direct key on,,
next time i pull the tank down, ill look around for the wire i want..
,,it wories me a bit, if i have a rollover, im sure the stock pump turns off, but the aftermarket one will keep going i guess,
not 100% the way id like it,, i was thinking id hook up a mercury trunk switch to the relay,, for any roll overs, that should do ok,,

, BUT
114 temp is hella good,
wow,
no wonder your hitting 18 psi,

just at 5 psi, im hitting well over128, wich i think is the highest the pt can read, threw the drb,
i have yet to install the temp gauges,
so much to do,

i really need to rebuild the bottom end,
18 psi is so attractive.
i have the gt turbo intake on order,
thats getting polished in and out,
and i couldnt fit the over flow with my optima battery,
so, i bought a gt turbo over flow,
that should look great,

i have 3 black stone saab inter coolers, im using, they are all cut, and to make it fit, i have 2 intakes of 2 inch and 2 exits at 2 inch,
and ill be using it as a straight flow threw instead of a double back type set up,
ill post a pic,, its hard to describe,

heheh

The factory pump runs for ~ 1.5 sec and then shuts down till it senses crank rotation. .... That is NORMAL. The Hahn relay takes only a "signal wire", from the PT fuel pump circuit. So when done right, ... it will run only when the factory pump runs.

The relay that comes with the kit is a Bosch unit, properly sized for the job. If the relay is wired improperly and then energized, it could damage the relay, the ASD circuit in the main box or computer, or.... just not work at all!

yeah, i couldnt find that wire, hard when by your self,
i didnt want to drop the tank again, as im going to have to helie coil the bolt holes soon,
maybe crappy was to harsh, i never used that style before and almost ecluisvely used the minigiants, and have a good dozen or so threw out my garage, and im sure i had it mis wired some how, , or blew the relay, not sure wich,
the mini's are rated at 30 amps wich is more than the fuse so its should be fine, and actually has larger gauge wires in the socket,

yeah that asd realy is a pain in the asssss it goes off for so many reason
took me and a tech going threw the manual a couple of hours to only find that my o2 sensor wire had droped down and came in contact with the turbo manifold, (intermittenly) ahhhh,, and was just grounding out once in a while causing complete car shut down,
soem times its the easiest thing, but folow the manual and eventually you find it,
i was worried i was going to need another pcm, LOL,
