Ah yes I'm back in NY and my big Kool Aid smile followed me all the way home from Virginia. I feel like I'm driving a totally different car now. Bob, I wanna thank you and your family for your hospitality. Anyone out on the forums who needs some engine work or turbo work Bob is the man you need to see. Have to go look for that Audi S4 so I can go put a hole in it's A$$

QUOTE: from pt-turbo
... so i trashed the crappy relay they supplied, and got one of my bosch mini giants, and pulled a direct key on . no problems, though there is one, the fuel pump seems to have a momentary turn on until there is actual rpms from the motor,, i couldnt find that exact wire, so i pulled a direct key on, .. QUOTE: The factory pump runs for ~ 1.5 sec and then shuts down till it senses crank rotation. .... That is NORMAL. The Hahn relay takes only a "signal wire", from the PT fuel pump circuit. So when done right, ... it will run only when the factory pump runs. The relay that comes with the kit is a Bosch unit, properly sized for the job. If the relay is wired improperly and then energized, it could damage the relay, the ASD circuit in the main box or computer, or.... just not work at all! Later, ... i didnt want to drop the tank again, as im going to have to helie coil the bolt holes soon, maybe crappy was to harsh, i never used that style before and almost ecluisvely used the minigiants, and have a good dozen or so threw out my garage, and im sure i had it mis wired some how, , or blew the relay, not sure wich, the mini's are rated at 30 amps wich is more than the fuse so its should be fine, and actually has larger gauge wires in the socket, yeah that asd realy is a pain in the asssss it goes off for so many reason took me and a tech going threw the manual a couple of hours to only find that my o2 sensor wire had droped down and came in contact with the turbo manifold, (intermittenly) ahhhh,, and was just grounding out once in a while causing complete car shut down, soem times its the easiest thing, but folow the manual and eventually you find it, i was worried i was going to need another pcm, LOL, ![]() Last edited by PT-Turbo : 22nd April 2003 at 09:50 AM. |
