Cal Cruiser called Borla and was told that they were working on an exhaust specific to the GT. Look for it in about two months.

Why do you say it is a problem? Borla tunes their catback system for each applicaion. I have used them on several cars. The problem comes in when you buy a system for a stock or slightly modified car and then expect it to flow enough when you hog out the heads, cam it, etc. I have used Borla systems for years and they are great system. They claim that their straight through design and tuning ends up flowing better than an open exhaust. It is all in the engineering. That is why they offer a race system as well. They make a great product.

I'm basing my claims on what was told me that the "present
'" pt setup has a spot where pipe "necks down to 1.5 " on the borla dual setup. I have bassani single and phatdad has bassani dual neither which have this problem. I re-installed bassoni single on my GT and phatdad is using bassoni dual on a bstockum turbo setup. I believe but I'm not positive that oc cruiser experienced this problem on his bstockum turbo'd cruiser. I didn't mean to slam borla I know they make quality systems. I thought PTLady wanted info on readily available setups .

When you get right down to it, exhaust systems turn out to be a matter of personal choice and opinion. Borla is good, Bassani is good too and so is the BTG system by PT-Tuning which happens to be on sale now. It all depends on how much bucks you are willing to spend to get the best.

PTPink [/QUOTETrue, but if you goof the exhaust system on the TURBO, you'll screw up the power because your messing around with backflow patterns. It does matter what you stick n the bottom of your GT in this case.

Ummmm, well turbos almost always respond to a freer exhust. The turbo itself will provide the minimal backpressure that you are refering to. The main restriction in just about any blown application is getting the exhaust gasses out, especially when the factory expects an exhaust system that is no bigger than the NA engine has, to move the volume that 10-14 #'s of boost will create.

Well come to think about it, the cat convertor regulates your back pressure, so you could run a straight pipe without a muffler, if you could stand the noise and not get a ticket form the local police. So I just think your vendors will up the cost just because it on a GT turbo.
