For 2003, Dodge has released 4 new SXT models for Neon, Stratus, Intrepid and Caravan that have been advertised on TV. These essentially are sport models which have replaced the "ES" model in some cases. Mainly just cosmetic upgrades. Also both Neon and Stratus offer the R/T model, which gets the biggest displacement engine for that model.

The only new serious performance model is the Neon SRT-4, which does have the same 2.4L PT GT engine (although different turbocharger and tranny). The SRT-4 also has an open dual exhaust (no muffler) to help it get along at 5.6sec for 0-60. Besides this Neon, I'm not aware of other perfomance enhanced models in production at DC.

The SRT-4 also has a larger intercooler, because it has room for it, and a more direct intake.

Automobile Magazine compared the SRT4, Mazda turbo, Supercharged Mini, and SVT Focus - the SRT 4 outran them all, braked shorter, and was cheapest.

0-60 5.7 sec., 0-100 14.7 sec. Since the Neon is lighter and has less cross-sectional area, suspect it'd beat a GT.

Dodge claims the only car quicker off the line is the Viper!
