The thing that makes it LESS impressive, ... is that, so far, ... every time we have called their hand, ... asked them to show us, ... doubted their statements, ... they have vanished into thin air!! NONE OF THEM has posted the first thing to validate their claims of either 0 to 60 times, ... or big HP from their PT's. So far, they have all seemed to be SC owners, .... with more "Tongue, ... than Torque!!" For those of us, busting our humps to improve and upgrade the performance of the PT, as well as devoting a HUGE portion of our own personal income doing it, ....This is a smack in the face, to have someone , .... lurking around the boards making un-substantiated claims of greatness, just to make themselves or the "troubled SC's", ... look good! Even though it was my first time at the track, with any FWD car and only three weeks with a turbo on my car, (not tuned for max perf), .... I beat a V-8 Mustang GT, heads up in the 1/4, coming from behind, with a respectable time of 14.3 at 99.3 as the evenings best! ... It is on tape, ... with time slips and dyno charts from the day before, all posted for you all to see! ... So why the information blackout on all these fast super charged PT's we keep hearing about? I am all ... "F O R" .. big numbers and fast times!!! There is always something to be learned from other peoples hard work. It's just too darn easy to spin a tail, ... instead of the wheels of their PT !! Put up .... or ... (well, you know the rest!) Bob http://www.bstockum.com |

Hey Bob, you know that when I ran the Superhcarger two years ago I was more than eager to share my results, and posted my Dyno runs for all to see.
Based on past experience though, I am glad I swithced over to the Turbo! Brad

I saw 2 Honda Prelude's which had 70Grand sunk into engine and Chrome work. One Prelude had 485hp without Nitrious
but for that money you could buy a viper

For $75, I can get 5 Friday evenings of enjoyment and as many passes as I can make in 3 hours. As Bstockum says, there are horsepower calculators out there that can accurately give you the numbers. Speed is the more accurate indicator, not ET. According the calculators, my old PT was a runner and generated 152 horsepower at the wheels against typical dyno numbers of between 127 and 129. I only had an open element air filter. Everything else was stock but it weighed 3,250 pounds with me in the car as I lost almost 160 pounds of easily removeable items. Kinda scary driving around with no spare tire though. I went 16.309 @ 84.27 mph. Until absolutely proven wrong or detrimental to me, I will continue to subscribe to the HARD break-in method. I have three vehicles, all broken in hard and they're all strong runners, get excellent mileage, and exhibit no excess oil burning or premature wear. I do change my oil early. My DC-II 5 speed will NOT be abused with kindness, collectible or not. I'm going to enjoy this car to the fullest, not baby it so some unknown future owner can enjoy it. When is Chrysler coming out with the Mopar performance upgrades for the 2.4 anyway?

Race and Street had their Cruiser at CRC2
The last time they dyno'd it it was 279hp with a whipple I believe it is possible to get alot more HP if you have another $20,000 or $30,000 Around where I live there is Prelude with 485hp mind you the guy is a little nuts.. He spent over 70,000 on a rice rocket

I saw the Mothers Wax v6 panel cruiser at a meet a couple months ago. I can't remember what he said the hp at the wheels was but I think it was about the same as my Turbo at the flywheel.
