Default Replacement tires on stock wheels??

What are some good tires for the stock wheels? I live in SW Florida, so snow is not a problem. However, there is major rain the summer so wet traction is definitely a must. Don't do any towing. Also, I am thinking about adding a turbo kit later, so I'll need some grip.

What is a good tire for me?

Thanks for your time.

Bob

Thumbs up Replacement Tires

I just recently had the factory originals (Goodyear 16 inch) tires replaced on my LE 2001. I got Michelin Destiny tires, at Discount Tires, for about $130 each. The Destiny tires come with a 80,000 mile warranty. In the (extremely) short rainy season (all of last week! ) the tires had great grip in the rain. With the dry weather, the tires were noticably better at traction and give an improved feel for the road. I haven't done a long distance drive yet on them (only San Diego to Escondido, California, about 60 miles round trip) but there were no problems noted whatsoever. As soon as I get a true long distance drive, at least greater than 150 miles, I'll post another report. But they'll have to do well to beat the gas mileage I got with the Goodyears: 31 mpg (as verified at a AAA car fair.) Jim Warren, 2001 LE, 40,000 miles, 31 mpg!
