None of the aftermarket headers have heat shield mounting brackets.
You can fabricate your own.
See the JBA header guide at www.ptdiy.net in the undercar guides section.

I bought a $50.00 roll of heat wrap and wraped mine form the Cat up and I did wrap as much of each pipe as I could but it gets hard where pipe is so close together. It worked great though the temp is way, way down in the engine compartment now.

Did you wrap it before the install or after? I figure before is the way to go. Did you use any of that spray stuff thats supposed to seal the tape?

I wrapped them after the fact. Way after, after I burned up a wiring harness, CPU and alternator oh not to mention the battery too, ah live and learn. But back to your question. Wrapping them "ahead" (no pun intended) would probably have been the way to go but I believed the guy who installed it telling me I didn't need it. This is why I'm posting so I can help someone not go through what I did. Anyway I wraped after and you know it looks fine even on a lift from beneath. I dd not do the spray because I was worried about over spray on other parts of the engine and what might happen. Ya know we should ask Brad he is the king of wrapping he would know send him a message he's cool and full of great advice.

Where is the link to the speed vs rpm discussion?

Are you sure if you increase the torque at a give rpm that this will not overcome some friction loses and therefore get the work to the road instead?

What about the autotrans ability to "learn", might it not transfer the power to the road, instead of spinning it off, if it recieves a stronger signal from the engine at a certain rpm?

Most modern automatic transmissions will lock in at least 3rd and 4th gear to eliminate the slip. Sometimes it almost feels like the transmission is shifting when it locks and unlocks. Once it is locked up, it becomes just like a manual transmission in that a specific engine speed will always give you the same ground speed (assuming same tire size, etc.). When the transmission is not locked up, the torque converter will allow varying degrees of engine speed vs. ground speed.
